WindHaven Outdoor Comfort Shell

Stop Rearranging Your Patio Around the Wind. Bring Shelter Closer to You.

A beautiful outdoor space should be somewhere you genuinely want to spend time.

But even on a sunny afternoon, an unexpected coastal breeze or shifting garden wind can make your favorite seating area feel exposed.

Traditional wind screens often require separate installations, fixed positions, or large structures that interrupt the surrounding landscape.

The WindHaven Outdoor Comfort Shell by Naturedownunder™ offers a different approach.

Instead of building a barrier around the entire patio, WindHaven creates a more sheltered personal resting space directly around the chair.

Its integrated design brings together a sculptural rotating wind wing, adjustable breathable louvers, a stable weighted base, and softly finished contact edges.

The result is an elegant outdoor lounge system that can be adjusted to suit changing breeze directions while maintaining an open and inviting connection to nature.

Not simply an outdoor chair. A more adaptable personal comfort space.

A Different Approach to Outdoor Shelter

Protect the Seating Experience, Not the Entire Landscape

Many outdoor wind-protection solutions begin with a screen, wall, or fixed barrier.

WindHaven begins with the person sitting outdoors.

Its curved protective shell is positioned around the seating zone rather than installed as a separate garden partition.

The structure can be oriented toward the direction of incoming wind, offering partial shelter where it is most useful.

Meanwhile, the front of the lounge remains open, preserving the natural view and accessible seating arrangement.

This creates a thoughtful balance between comfort, architectural form, and outdoor openness.

Curved Rotating Wind Wing

Shelter That Adjusts as the Breeze Changes

At the center of WindHaven is a beautifully curved wind-deflecting wing.

Unlike a conventional straight patio screen, the wing follows a sculptural arc around the rear and side of the lounge.

Its rotating structure is designed to allow the protective orientation to change without requiring the entire chair to be moved.

This makes it possible to adjust the surrounding shell in response to different breeze directions throughout the day.

The curved design also provides a distinctive architectural silhouette, making WindHaven an attractive addition to a terrace, garden, or coastal home.

Adjustable Breathable Louvers

Control the Balance Between Shelter and Openness

Complete enclosure is not always the answer to outdoor comfort.

A solid wall can block the view and make a seating area feel disconnected from the landscape.

WindHaven takes a more flexible approach with adjustable louvers integrated into the curved shell.

These horizontal elements allow the surrounding structure to be configured with varying degrees of openness.

When adjusted, the louvers can influence how air moves through the shell while allowing natural light and glimpses of the surrounding landscape to remain part of the experience.

The result is a visually lighter alternative to an entirely solid barrier.

A sense of shelter without losing the feeling of being outdoors.

Stable Weighted Base

A Grounded Foundation for an Adjustable Structure

A rotating protective shell requires a carefully considered foundation.

WindHaven incorporates a low-profile weighted base designed to support the lounge and its surrounding wind wing.

The base forms the structural foundation of the complete seating system, helping keep the assembly grounded during normal use on appropriate outdoor surfaces.

Its rounded architectural shape also allows the protective shell to feel visually integrated with the chair rather than appearing as a separate attachment.

The warm metal finish and natural material palette maintain the refined character of the furniture.

Soft Contact Edge Detailing

The Small Details That Make Shelter More Inviting

Outdoor structures often look impressive from a distance, but the details closest to the user deserve just as much attention.

WindHaven incorporates softened contact edges along the shell's accessible boundaries.

These refined surfaces are designed to create a more welcoming interaction with the surrounding structure while maintaining its sculptural profile.

Smooth transitions between the wooden surfaces, metal framework, and upholstered chair contribute to the overall furniture-grade appearance.

Nothing feels like an improvised addition.

Everything belongs to one cohesive design.

Adjust to the Direction of the Breeze

One Seating Position. More Flexible Surrounding Protection.

Imagine sitting on your terrace as the wind changes direction.

With a conventional fixed screen, moving to a different position may be the easiest way to find shelter.

WindHaven is designed to approach the situation differently.

The curved wind wing can be repositioned around the lounge to provide partial protection from the direction of an incoming breeze.

The adjustable louvers offer another way to refine the relationship between airflow, openness, and comfort.

The seating position can remain familiar while the surrounding shell changes its orientation.

This is not a completely windproof enclosure. Instead, it is a more adaptable way to manage the immediate environment around a personal outdoor seat.

More Comfort in the Open Air

Designed for the Places You Love to Spend Time

WindHaven is particularly well suited to outdoor spaces where an open landscape and occasional breezes are part of the experience.

A coastal terrace overlooking the water.

A garden courtyard surrounded by greenery.

A quiet reading corner near an open patio.

Its upholstered seat offers an inviting place to settle in, while the curved outer shell gives the space a more personal character.

The natural wood-inspired surfaces and warm neutral cushioning create a calm visual identity that complements sophisticated outdoor architecture.

A More Considered Kind of Outdoor Furniture

WindHaven brings several purposeful elements into one integrated system:

Rotating Curved Wind Wing — Allows the protective structure to be reoriented.

Adjustable Louvers — Provide a configurable balance of airflow and shelter.

Weighted Base — Supports the rotating shell and integrated seating arrangement.

Soft Contact Edges — Give frequently encountered surfaces a more refined finish.

Comfortable Lounge Seating — Creates an inviting place for reading, conversation, and outdoor rest.

Rather than adding a separate wind screen beside a conventional chair, WindHaven brings these functions together as a cohesive outdoor furniture concept.
